Carmen Hoyt,

Assistant Manager + PADI Open Water Instructor

Meet Carmen! A native of southwest Florida, Carmen grew up on the water and fell in love with the ocean at a very young age. She studied Marine Biology at Duke University, where she first got certified to dive in preparation for a trip to Australia. After graduation, Carmen moved to Palau to work for a sustainable aquaculture start-up before moving to Indonesia to pursue her PADI Divemaster and Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications. Prior to returning to Florida, she spent some time working in the Turks and Caicos for a marine science research station. When she isn’t at work, you will find her surfing or tending to her garden. If you stop by the shop, chances are she’ll be there ready to talk about all things diving!

Chad Pratt, PADI Master SCUBA Diver Trainer

Chad grew up in Salt Lake City, UT.  At 16 years old he moved to Maui, HI for a couple of years.  There, he developed a passion for the ocean.  He learned to surf, free dive and SCUBA dive.  He loved the power of the waves and the abundant life under the water.  After joining the Army, building a family and developing his career as an IT professional back in Utah he began diving again with his wife and daughter.  After diving all around the world, he worked to become a Dive Master and in the spring of 2019 he and his family moved to Jax Beach.  This is where he joined the Atlantic Pro Diver family to become a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer.

His favorite place he has dove is Blue Corner, Palau.  He loves finding small ocean life like nudibranchs and Jawfish as well as experiencing the large creatures of the ocean like turtles, sharks and manta rays.

Will Hinton, PADI Master SCUBA Diver Trainer

Before the move from Nashville TN to Jacksonville FL, Will graduated from Western Kentucky University and worked as a research Biologist in Cambodia where he received his first PADI Open Water Certification. He later moved to Florida to begin his career as an Aquatic Biologist. Within a year of living in Florida he began working towards his PADI Divemaster with the Atlantic Pro Diver family. Now a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer,  Will teaches frequently on the weekends and tries to plan as many offshore trips as possible.
